History/Story of Collin Street Bakery
Collin Street Bakery was founded in 1896 by a German baker and a local businessman who blended European techniques with Texas hospitality. Its fruitcakes gained fame partly thanks to traveling circus performers and entertainers who ordered them to be shipped worldwide. The bakery later expanded with a mail-order system that made its DeLuxe® Fruitcake an international holiday tradition. Today, the bakery still produces goods using many of the same methods and ingredients that made it famous over 125 years ago.
