History/Story of Milwaukee Pretzel Company
Founded in 2013 by husband-and-wife team Matt and Katie Wessel, Milwaukee Pretzel Company was inspired by the couple’s time living abroad, where they developed a love for authentic German pretzels. Determined to recreate the same flavor and texture back home, they launched the company in Wisconsin and began supplying local restaurants and breweries.
What started as a passion project quickly expanded. Today, the company produces thousands of pretzels daily for restaurants, festivals, sports venues, and retail customers across the country—while still staying true to traditional Bavarian baking techniques.
